Jack Helfgott, Age 63, resided in Edison, New Jersey, 02/22/1952 – 11/1/2015, Moo Duk Kwan Master, Dan Bon #26104

Master Helfgott, known among the Career and Technical Education for his dedication to teaching the Video and editing arts, had a extensive career in education.  He completed his Master of Education degree at Seton Hall University, in Educational/Instructional Technology, received his Bachelor of Arts in Education at The George Washington University, and attended Wagner College.   He attained Sa Dan (4th degree) ranking in the art of Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan, while attending Hwang Karate in Springfield, NJ, he started training in 1980 until his passing.

Many of his extended Moo Duk Kwan family know him from his excellent video productions that he helped direct, edit and produce for the U.S. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation; many can be seen on the Soo Bahk Do Institute.

Began training in 1967 at the age of 16, as a member of the Brooklyn Highland Park Y.M.C.A., under the guidance and training of Mr. Mike Masley, Jr., Dan Bon 10180, and tested for Cho Dan on June 18, 1969.  Now a certified 4th Dan Ko Dan Ja, and was issued his original testing date Dan Bon 13927 by Kwan Jang Nim H.C. Hwang based on his petition to honor that date and evidence showing Mr. Mike Masley and his instructors,  Mr. Robert Sohn, Dan Bon 6037 and Mr. Vincent Nunno, Dan Bon 7291, were legitimate representatives of the Founder, and Kwan Jang Nim Hwang Kee and the Korean Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Association in 1969.
